Montana Mom Camp

A weekend away for moms to play, explore, rest, make things, try something new, and remember that you’re a person outside of everything you do for everyone else.

What Awaits You in Anaconda, MT

Mom Camp is a three-day, two-night summer weekend built around one simple idea: you get to choose what sounds good to you.

We’ll take over Pintlers Portal Hostel for the weekend and fill it with experiences led by local instructors, guides, artists, wellness practitioners, and small businesses. Throughout the weekend, you’ll build your own schedule by choosing from different activity options, with plenty of time built in to eat, hang out, explore, sit around the bonfire, and actually get to know the women you’re sharing the weekend with.

Think summer camp, but you’re an adult now and nobody is making you do the activity you don’t want to do.

2 Nights

In a cozy Montana hostel in downtown Anaconda, surrounded by mountains

A Walkable Downtown

Anaconda is a walkable town nestled in the wilderness, making it a scenic getaway.

Women in Community

Laughter, reflection, and the power of being held by others

A weekend to step away from the routines, responsibilities, and endless lists and remember what it feels like to simply have fun. Mom Camp is three days in Montana to make new friends, try new things, get outside, create, move, laugh, and choose what you want to do for once.

Who This Is For

Mom Camp might be for you if:

  • You love being a mom, but you miss doing things just because you want to
  • You’re craving a weekend where nobody needs you to plan the meals, pack the snacks, or keep everyone on schedule
  • You want to try new things, get outside, make something, move your body, or simply hang out
  • You’d love to meet other women without awkward networking or forced small talk
  • You want the freedom to choose what sounds fun instead of following a packed retreat itinerary
  • You could really use a few days of laughing, playing, exploring, and feeling like yourself again

You don’t have to be burned out. You don’t have to need an escape from your life.

You’re allowed to want a weekend away simply because it sounds really, really fun.

About Your Facilitators

Meet the two women who will hold the container, walk beside you, and guide you gently home to yourself.

Marquis Matson

Marquis Matson is the founder of Anaconda Yoga and a lifelong student of the human psyche, the nervous system, and traditional yogic wisdom.

After more than a decade of traveling, studying, and working in yoga communities across India and Asia, Marquis returned home to Anaconda, Montana in 2023 to bring her experience back to the the US. Her work now sits at the intersection of somatic practice, psychology, and classical yoga, grounded in the belief that healing happens through lived, embodied experience, not performance.

Marquis holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a former adjunct professor of psychology and has spent years teaching human development, sexuality, and mental health. This academic background deeply informs her somatic yoga work, allowing her to guide practices that support nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and a felt sense of safety in the body.

Alongside her academic training, Marquis completed her 200-hour training in Classical Hatha Tantra in India and has devoted over fifteen years to personal practice and study. Her somatic approach weaves slow, intentional movement, breath awareness, interoception, and rest, inviting students to listen to their bodies rather than override them. Sessions are designed to help unwind habitual holding patterns, restore trust in sensation, and reconnect women to their intuitive, embodied intelligence.

Her teaching is rooted in presence, precision, and care. She is less interested in perfect poses and more devoted to helping people soften long-held patterns, develop self-attunement, and access their innate capacity for healing. When Marquis says that you matter, she means it. Her life’s work is an offering to that truth.

Heidi Brandin

Heide was born and raised in Butte, Montana. After leaving for about tena decade, she returned home and started Mom, What’s Next? Butte, serving as community manager and becoming a trusted voice connecting local families with resources, events, and each other. A licensed music educator, Heide teaches piano and voice from her home studio and has previously taught toddler music and movement classes, public school music, and facilitated weekly sound healing sessions for the community.

Heide recently relocated to the Bay Area with her family, and she’s excited to be back for Mom Camp bringing her love of music, connection, and community building to this gathering of moms.

When was the last time you got to ask, “What do I want to do today?”
