Class Descriptions

Below you’ll find descriptions for all classes offered at Anaconda Yoga Fest 2025, listed in alphabetical order. Each one reflects the heart and intention of its teacher—rooted in practice, shaped by experience, and offered with care. Whether you’re planning your weekend or just browsing for inspiration, this list will help you get a feel for the wide range of offerings and find what resonates most with you.

4 Elements Restorative Yoga + Sound Healing w/ Eve Farwell

Join Eve Farwell for a gently guided Four Elements Meditation & Restorative Yoga experience—a practice designed to reconnect you with air, water, fire, and earth—the sacred building blocks of life and your own inner nature. Together, we’ll slow down and bring mindful awareness to each element, one at a time, inviting presence and curiosity as we feel into the essence of each one. This isn’t about emptying the mind—it’s about stillness, reflection, and reconnection. Supported by grounding restorative yoga postures and soothing sound healing, this experience offers a nourishing space to soften, notice, and remember the sacred in the ordinary. Let yourself unwind, breathe deeply, and come back to your body and the natural world around you. A gentle return to balance—through nature, through sound, through self.

Awaken the Warrior Goddess w/ Catherine Wetenkamp

Long ago, two brothers performed fierce austerities to gain a boon: that no man could ever defeat them. Armed with this power, they unleashed terror across the three worlds. In desperation, the gods called upon Durga—the supreme goddess who does not dwell in the manifest world but arises only when truly needed. In this immersive, embodied class, we journey through the epic story of the Devi Mahatmya — from the brothers’ blind delusion and the moment Durga arrives at their gates, to the fierce battles against soldiers and the terrifying buffalo demon. We witness the relentless rise of Raktabija, whose spilled blood created countless clones, and ultimately embody the unstoppable power of Kali, who erupted from Durga’s third eye to break the cycle of destruction.

Through asana, kriya, mantra, and meditation, we enter the field of this myth not as passive listeners, but as warriors of awakening:

  • Kriyas to destroy repetitive thought patterns and awaken inner fire
  • Mantra to invoke Durga, Kali, and the fierce clarity of Shakti
  • Meditation to call all fragmented energies home—into wholeness, into sovereignty

All levels welcome.

Cacao & Yoga Ceremony w/ Brenda Carey

Honor your body, mind, and spirit in this nurturing ceremony designed to reconnect you with your heart’s wisdom. We’ll begin by sharing ceremonial cacao—chocolate in its purest form, sourced from Guatemala. This gentle plant medicine enhances intuition, inspires creativity, and invites you into a deeper state of presence and self-love. Guided by Brenda Carey, Holistic Healer and Reiki Master, the experience includes gentle yoga, guided meditation, oracle cards, traditional songs, and sacred sharing. Potency of the cacao can be adjusted to meet your individual needs. Everything is accessible to all levels. Please bring a mug or cup for the cacao, journal and pen.

Cacao Ceremony w/ Kelby Jane

Prior to starting the ceremony I will cleanse your field and energy with Sage. The experience includes an opening of the space with a gratitude share followed by a prayer inviting the 4 elements and directions. We will then set intention(s) for the ceremony and take time to sip on the beautiful medicine of Cacao. The ceremony may include, breathwork, movement, Reiki and a sound bath depending on the energetics of the space. Cacao is a non-psychoactive Plant Medicine from South America that was worshiped by the Aztecs and Mayans. It is a heart opener and gives us access to connect deeper with ourselves in a state of bliss.

Caturanga Cha Cha w/ Marissa Krupa

This is a rigorous class where we will break down and rebuild the caturanga or “flow” sequence (from forward fold through caturanga dandasana to down dog). We will take each part of the flow and explore technique and form to ensure you are entering and exiting each pose without chance of injury. We will also examine the functional mechanics of our skeletons in relation to the flowing movement of this sequence, including the use of blocks to support our bones. This class is rooted in Ashtanga concepts. If you’ve taken a yoga class and struggled to understand the queuing in the caturanga flow, then this class is for you. If you feel like you know the caturanga flow, but want to deepen your understanding of the poses, then this class is also for you! The caturanga sequence is widely used in yoga classes around the world, but very rarely taught by itself. Now, you have an opportunity to dial in the form and understand your body’s function within this flow. Our goal is to bring about awareness and develop muscle memory so that no matter where you take a yoga class, you can flow without injury. The caturanga sequence is powerful yet also provides release. When we bring education, mindfulness, and body awareness into this sequence, it can be a source of incredible growth. Join this energetic class to sweat, learn, and grow with the caturanga flow! (And, maybe we’ll throw in a little cha cha dancing!)

Divine Feminine & Masculine In Nature w/ Marquis Matson

Nature expresses both feminine and masculine energies—fluid and steady, receptive and active, wild and still. In this class, we’ll explore tantric perspectives on these polarities and learn how to observe them in the world around us. You’ll take a slow walk through the park, guided by prompts and reflection questions, then come together in circle for journaling and group discussion. A practice in presence, pattern-seeing, and connecting more deeply to both land and self.

Earth Medicine Yoga w/ Brenda Carey

Experience the sacred synergy of shamanic wisdom and yoga in this Earth-centered healing practice.  First half of workshop is instructional and the second half is on the mat. – All Levels Yoga Ceremony honoring the 4 directions and Spirit Animals – Guided meditation and drum journey through the Four Perceptions – Learn the basic wisdom teachings of the Earthkeepers, the medicine men and women of the Americas.. Somatic Yoga For Feminine Energy w/ Marquis Matson

Designed to support softness, fluidity, and inner attunement, this practice blends somatic movement and gentle yoga to nourish your feminine energy. Sound Bath w/ Kelby Jane

Reiki infused sound bath with crystal sound bowls and drumming.

Stand and Deliver w/ Marissa Krupa

This is an all-level class with a foundational approach for standing poses. We’ll focus on specific concepts with feet, arches, ankles, knees, and hips. The goal is to build muscle memory on how to engage in standing poses for maximum benefit, yet with complete safety. The class is based on Iyengar concepts, with use of yoga props. In this class, we will begin to explore the interplay between the yoga concept “sthira” or structure, and “sukham” or sweet space. These concepts are introduced in the yoga sutra 2.46. When combined, sthira and sukham provide the ultimate balance, allowing for focus, presence, and delight both within our yoga practice, and in our everyday lives. Learning to notice the difference between sthira and sukham physically, can begin to translate into noticing when we are calm or agitated, when we are heartened or disheartened. When we bring more awareness to our human experience, we begin to open up to choice, instead of being at the mercy of our reactions. Join this wonderful workshop to build a stronger foundation for your yoga practice and your daily life!

Strength For Flexibility w/ Jasmine Wolfe

In this class you’ll learn how to build up joint and muscle strength to support deep flexibility and better mobility.

Tadasana to Tapas: Strength & Balance in Motion w/ Nicole Sheree

A standing Hatha flow to ground, challenge, and transform. Stand tall, root deep, and rise into your strength. This creative Hatha class begins at the foundation—Tadasana—and builds from there with purposeful movement, steady breath, and a playful approach to balance. Inspired by Sivananda-style sun salutations, we’ll flow mostly from standing, using alignment, core engagement, and focus to spark Tapas—the inner fire that transforms. Through thoughtful sequencing, you’ll cultivate stability and presence, finishing with a gentle wind-down and grounding savasana. Expect wobbles, strength, and sweet moments of stillness. Come explore what it means to truly stand in your power.

The Hero’s Heart: Hanuman’s Journey Through Kriya & Myth w/ Catherine Wetenkamp

Awaken the heroic heart within through the embodied myth of Hanuman—the devoted servant of love, strength, and unwavering faith. In this immersive class, we begin with Hanuman’s birth as Anjaneya, the child of Anjana and the wind God Vayu, and follow his arc through divine forgetfulness, remembrance, and the courageous leap toward dharma. As the narrative unfolds, each chapter of Hanuman’s story is woven into your practice with intentionality and power: Kriyas to ignite prana, awaken latent potential, and support evolutionary action Mantra to invoke inner strength, devotion, and remembrance of the Self Meditation to ground the myth in your subtle body and awaken deep clarity Expect to move, sweat, chant, breathe, and remember the truth of who you are through the lens of Hanuman’s sacred path. Come prepared to embody courage, devotion, and the leap of faith required to live in alignment with your soul. All levels welcome. (If there is time, I would love to follow up the class with a discussion of the themes of the story and teach on Ram/Sita/Hanuman – I am not sure how long you schedule classes but I could make this a 2 hr+ class and workshop depending on timing you have available)

About eight years ago something wasn’t working and he started thinking outside the box for things that would help his mind and body. Cody was in “good shape” but felt drained and anxious every day. Her teaching is rooted in guiding students out of their minds and into their bodies – through mindful movement, breath, and presence, she hopes to curate a dance through the asanas.

yinga yoga & yoga nidra + partner yoga
With over a decade of personal yoga and meditational practicing, I have experience firsthand in the power of transformation these practices can bring. Inspired by the profound impact that yoga had on my life, I decided to pursue in a profession in yoga to share this journey with others.

As a newly certified yoga teacher, I bring a deep passion for guiding individuals towards physical strength, mental clarity and inner peace. This approach is rooted in creating a welcoming and inclusive space where students of all levels can feel supported in their own personal growth.

I draw over a decade of personal practice focusing on combining mindful movement with breath work and mediation and will offer classes that nurture the mind-body connection. Each class will improve flexibility, reduce stress, and cultivate a deeper sense of well-being. I am completely dedicated to helping others in discovering the benefits of yoga and the role it can play in their own life.

Lexi Salminen

mandala flow + slow flow & sound healing
Hi, I’m Lexi—so excited to take you on a journey through yoga!

Yoga found me three years ago, and from that moment on, I’ve been captivated by the beauty, depth, and magic of the practice. It’s become more than just movement—it’s a way of being. I’ve spent countless hours studying and training under a variety of teachers and traditions, completing a 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training, all supported by a background in Applied Health Science.

On the mat, I love designing creative, playful flows with unexpected transitions—often spiraling and circling like so much of the natural world around us. My classes invite you to move slowly, intentionally, and deeply, guided by the rhythm of your breath. My intention is always to create a calming, inward, and inspiring space—one where your body gently resists leaving savasana.

Off the mat, you’ll find me soaking up the sun—whether that’s at a hot spring, hiking a mountain, plunging into an alpine lake, or simply watching Montana’s breathtaking skies melt into sunset.

I’m deeply honored to share the practice of yoga, and I hope to serve as a conduit for the transformation, healing, and connection this practice can bring into our human experience.

See you on the mat—with love,
Lexi

Kirtan & Sacred hunting
Hi I’m Lou! My yogic background is extensive and begins at a young age, a formal spiritual awakening began in India over 13 years ago. I traveled there for instruction in yoga and came back a different version of myself than when I had left. My teacher taught from a light hearted place of Hindu influence, maybe you’re familiar with him, Yogirishi Visvha-ji, and I’ve held these teachings close. I have since gone on to train within schools of kundalini kriya and Shabd yoga for over 1000 hours of training and teaching. I graduated from Colorado State university with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with countless hours of continuing education in yoga as well as Reiki, sound healing, Ayurveda and most recently, Inner Alignment somatic coaching. I am physically located in southwestern Montana, traveling extensively throughout the western United States teaching aspiring yogis, spiritual seekers, and yoga teachers of all abilities and ages. I’m honored to walk this path on this earthly dimension, and be a light in advocacy, personal sovereignty, empowerment, and deep inner and spiritual healing.

Stand and Deliver & Caturanga Cha Cha
Yoga and meditation has profoundly impacted Marissa’s life in many ways. Growing up in a severely abusive home, yoga and meditation helped Marissa to become present in her body, regulate her emotions, and develop coping skills to handle Life. Today, Marissa’s anxiety and PTSD from Adverse Childhood Experiences are almost non-existent. Physical ailments like sciatica have disappeared. Marissa is present for all things, whether pleasant or unpleasant. Today, Marissa experiences more joy and love than ever before.

Marissa’s vision is to assist individuals and organizations to benefit from the ancient yoga philosophies and practices in our modern world. There is so much suffering today, whether individual through racism and oppression, or community-based through the economic devastation of climate change.

Part of yoga’s call-to-action is to be our best, most conscious, and most spiritually-connected selves in every circumstance. Marissa believes being one’s best self extends beyond a person’s family or work community. Being our best selves means actively engaging the larger global community to influence positive, peaceful change.

As she approaches her 50th year, Marissa knows that yoga is for every body. In her classes and retreats, Marissa strives to create a safe, peaceful, and welcoming environment for all participants to explore their own healing and growth. She is excited to meet you and serve you in whatever way she can!
