Our story
Anaconda is home to a strong community of yogis, yoga-curious individuals, and fitness enthusiasts seeking recovery through yoga.
Yet there hasn’t been a reliable and complete schedule of yoga classes for Anaconda residents to go to. Seeing the immense need and want for a yoga community in Anaconda, Anaconda Yoga was born.
I’m so excited to be sharing this practice with you.

Marquis Matson
Studio Owner & Founder, 200-Hour RYT
I came home to Anaconda in 2023 to be near family and I’m excited to bring all of my experience and knowledge in Mental Health, Family Systems, and Traditional Yoga to the Anaconda community.
Here’s where I got all of my training and knowledge before bringing it to you at @anacondayoga
✨ My 200-hour certification is in Classical Hatha Tantra, completed in India under @satyaloka_traditional.tantra
✨ 15 years of practice, 10 of those years traveling the world and studying in ashrams and yoga schools throughout India and Asia
✨ 10 years working in the Yoga industry, marketing Yoga Teacher Trainings, Yoga Schools, Retreat Centers, and Yoga general
✨ Bachelor of Science in Psychology; Master of Marriage and Family Therapy
✨ Former adjunct Professor of Psychology, teaching Human Development, Human Sexuality, and Psychology to undergraduate students in Miami
When I say that YOU matter to me, I really mean it. My entire adult life has been dedicated to understanding what makes people hurt and heal, and now I bring these practices home to you. It’s the perfect blend of Science and Tradition, evidence-based practices and spiritual exploration.

Jacquie Peterson
Yoga Teacher, 200-Hour RYT and Reiki Practitioner
Jacquie is a Reiki Master and Mindfulness Meditation Practitioner who is spreading the wisdom of 15 plus years and 1,000s of hours of practice discovering and integrating different mind-body methods and therapies to live a transformed life of love.
Samantha Fisher
Yoga Teacher, 200-Hour RYT and Sound Healer
Samantha is an incredible sound healer, yoga teacher, and overall individual. Her sound showers are calming, making her a popular teacher in Southwest Montana. She teaches regularly in Butte, Whitehall, and now Anaconda.
Emily Collier
Yoga Teacher, 200-Hour RYT
Emily started her yoga journey in 2020 and immediately fell in love with its innate healing qualities. Yoga has helped her stay more grounded and present through life’s ups and downs. She’s learned so much through the practice and teaching of yoga and loves to share this healing practice with others!
Lexi Salminen
Yoga Teacher, 200-Hour RYT
Lexi is a passionate yoga teacher who began her practice three years ago and has since immersed herself in the depths of yoga through a 200-hour Vinyasa Style Yoga Teacher Training and a background in Applied Health Science. She loves creating fun, fluid flows with creative transitions, encouraging students to connect breath to movement while moving slowly, with control, and exploring deeper postures. Her classes are calming, inspirational, and designed to leave students feeling peaceful and centered. Outside of yoga, Lexi enjoys spending time in nature, from hot springs to mountain hikes, and is honored to share the transformative power of yoga at Anaconda Yoga.
Lou Rae
Yoga Teacher, 200-Hour RYT
Lou’s yogic background is extensive and began at a young age. Her formal spiritual awakening took place in India over 13 years ago, where she traveled for instruction in yoga and returned deeply transformed. She studied under Yogirishi Visvha-ji, whose lighthearted, Hindu-influenced teachings continue to shape her path.
Since then, Lou has completed over 1,000 hours of training and teaching in Kundalini Kriya and Shabd Yoga. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Colorado State University and has pursued continued education in yoga, Reiki, sound healing, Ayurveda, and most recently, Inner Alignment somatic coaching.
Based in southwestern Montana, Lou travels throughout the western United States, working with aspiring yogis, spiritual seekers, and yoga teachers of all ages and experience levels. She is devoted to this path and considers it an honor to support others through advocacy, personal sovereignty, empowerment, and deep inner and spiritual healing. Connect with Lou.
Dina AF
Yoga Teacher, 200-Hour RYT
Dina completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in Colorado and taught Power Flow before moving home to Montana. Since Anaconda Yoga’s opening, Dina has been teaching 5:30 a.m. Power Flow and covering morning classes when needed. Expect her classes to be dynamic and get the blood pumping. She is also is the coffee queen of Anaconda, roasting single origin beans for Adella Coffee. Stop by Anaconda Outdoor on Tuesdays and Thursdays to get a freshly brewed cuppa.
Elsa Janney
Yoga Teacher, 200-Hour RYT
Elsa has been teaching yoga on and off since 2016. Yoga was a catalyst for her to forge a deeper awareness of partnering in soul/body awareness with self and animals. She was the first ‘reindeer yoga’ teacher in the world while living in Alaska; since then she has taught with huskies and horses as well. Elsa still loves studio time as it holds space for deep intimacy with our body and connecting with others.
Tonya Carpenter
Sound Healer and Reiki Practitioner
Tonya Carpenter is a gifted sound healer and Reiki practitioner at Anaconda Yoga, specializing in transformative sessions that blend energy work with soothing soundscapes to help students find balance and deep relaxation.
