Montana Yoga Retreats in the Mountains

Women’s retreats in Montana rooted in breath, movement, and meaningful connection.

You don’t have to reinvent yourself in the mountains.

At Anaconda Yoga, we host annual women’s retreats in Montana rooted in breath-centered yoga, somatic movement, and real time outside. They’re designed to help you settle in, not level up. To leave feeling steadier, not different.

Kim D.

“At 72 with a slew of health care issues, Marquis met me where I was and welcomed me in a way that was healing and cathartic. It is obvious her mastery of yoga includes just the right combination of knowledge and wisdom. Her intuition is spot on.”

About Your Facilitator

Marquis Matson

Marquis Matson is the founder of Anaconda Yoga and a lifelong student of the human psyche, the nervous system, and traditional yogic wisdom.

After more than a decade of traveling, studying, and working in yoga communities across India and Asia, Marquis returned home to Anaconda, Montana in 2023 to bring her experience back to the the US. Her work now sits at the intersection of somatic practice, psychology, and classical yoga, grounded in the belief that healing happens through lived, embodied experience, not performance.

Marquis holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a former adjunct professor of psychology and has spent years teaching human development, sexuality, and mental health. This academic background deeply informs her somatic yoga work, allowing her to guide practices that support nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and a felt sense of safety in the body.

Alongside her academic training, Marquis completed her 200-hour training in Classical Hatha Tantra in India and has devoted over fifteen years to personal practice and study. Her somatic approach weaves slow, intentional movement, breath awareness, interoception, and rest, inviting students to listen to their bodies rather than override them. Sessions are designed to help unwind habitual holding patterns, restore trust in sensation, and reconnect women to their intuitive, embodied intelligence.

Her teaching is rooted in presence, precision, and care. She is less interested in perfect poses and more devoted to helping people soften long-held patterns, develop self-attunement, and access their innate capacity for healing. When Marquis says that you matter, she means it. Her life’s work is an offering to that truth.
